Addition

Addition is a skill we use daily. It is important that your child knows their basic addition facts. The activities below can help your child practice their addition facts.

+Create problems for them to work out.

 12+2= ?      5+1= ?     10+10= ?

+Create flashcards.

+Take them to the store and have them add up the prices of the items you purchase.

 

Subtraction

Subtraction is another skill that is used in our daily life. If your child does not know how to subtract, have them practice by using flashcards or other manipulatives at home. This will help them strengthen this skill and be ready for 2 or 3-digit subtraction and division.

 


 

 

Multiplication

Multiplication is fun to learn. As a fourth grader, you should already know most of your times tables. If your child does not know their times tables, please help your child learn them. You can do this by trying some of the activities listed below.

Division is multiplying backwards. If you know your multiplication facts and how to subtract, you will have an easy time with division.
